Hello everyone! This is Rosaneli and I! She is gorgeous I know :) We want this first post to be an invitation for you to be a part of our mission. We are going to do our very best to share with you the who, what, where, when, how, and whys of our journey, because we want this to be a resource to others who will be called to go on missions. For those of you reading this that have contributed to our work, we are privileged and grateful to you. We promise to faithfully use all of our support in a way that gives Glory to God and His plan in our lives. So more than anything this is a hello letter to you all. We are praying that this space will turn into a conversation, where you feel free to interact with us and ask or comment about our work. We will always share our contact info with you in these posts, so please don't be afraid to reach out. Our Plans We will be serving for at least two years at a mission called S.O.S. Ministries, headed by Pastor Paulino Gonzalez. While there, we will be building our ministry from the ground up, with two focuses: house church and the lifting up of a community center. On the outskirts of Matamoros are colonias, where we will be livinig. Nearly every home here is about the size of an average U.S. living room, and families from 4-7 people usually live in these homes. They have dirt floors, no insulation, and little furniture. Yet just like here, the home is the heart of the family, and that is how we believe we will reach people. We hope to train individuals to lead church in their home, using a system that has worked for thousands of years. By forming relationships and providing the materials and lessons, we will plant seeds that will multiply exponentially without our direct oversight. This is the system that has worked throughout the world and we believe it is what God intends here as well. We also value fellowship and have plans to open a community center in our colonia. This will be a place that families will recognize as a light where followers of Christ can come together to grow in our walk with Him. Before we can do anything though, we have to rebuild because the building we have is not in the best of shape: Once we fix up the space we will focus on four branches of work: Activities, food dispenses, a trade store, and a laundromat. One of our hopes is to really transform the community by taking a look at the needs and helping supply what is missing, while also teaching the people to want to be a part of the change themselves.
We are excited for the work God has given to us. We have a vision and every single one of you reading this is a part of that vision. Please pray for us, for Matamoros, and for S.O.S. Ministries. Be open to the calling God has put on your own life because there are missions everywhere, and there will always be more work than their are workers (Matthew 9:37-38). If you have any questions please give us a call (956-212-7182) or email us ([email protected]) and we would be happy to talk. God Bless, our next post will be about USCIS paperwork for anyone who might have to deal with citizenship changes like we did! We hope you can connect with us and if you feel called to contribute to our mission here are all of the ways how:

AuthorRosaneli and I have decided to dedicate the next few years of our lives serving as missionaries in Matamoros, Mexico. We are both 24 and share the same birthday month! More than anything we want to share with you everything we are doing with our mission so that if you are ever called to GO, you can use this as a resource for your success. ArchivesCategories |
